Love Star Signs – How to Know Your Perfect Star Sign Match

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

To help astrologers and also the casual researcher to discover the perfect star sign matches, there are several qualifying categories that the love star signs are divided into.

Triplices are the four elements of:  fire, air, earth and water and each element contains three star signs. which is the reason for the name triplice.

Quadruplices are the next category that will help us to find our star sign matches. In astrology the quadruplices show us the three different energy types. Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable give us the three categories and these each contain four love star signs which is the reason for their name.

The next group that help to classify star sign compatibility show us direct links to our star sign matches:

Love Star Signs - Is Your Star Sign Compatibility Match With Ophiuchus by Alan Lord

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

There is a distinct buzz echoing around at the moment. It began in the astrology zone but its resonance can now be heard across the cosmos.

Astrology as we all know is the study of the stars and the planets and the effect that they have upon our lives. There have long and often been debates over the disputed claim of whether they can predict our future. Now it is suddenly the hot topic for discussion once more.

This is all due to a man named Parke Kunkle who teaches astronomy at the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, he told NBC in an interview that the way that we view the stars and the constellations has to be changed. According to Kunkle the change has come about due to a wobble in the earth’s axis which means it is not in the same place that it was 3000 years ago when the constellations were first allocated names and placed into what is now our zodiac.

This shifting of our planet has left a hole in the cosmos. Do not panic, it’s not a black hole as apparently this hole can be filled with another, new, star sign!

Star sign number 13 is to be called Ophiuchus and it sits between Scorpio and Sagittarius in the heavens.

Ophiuchus is not new he was around at the beginning of the zodiac along with the other 49 original constellations. These were whittled down by the Babylonians, first to 18 and then into the 12 that we are all familiar with.

Ophiuchus was known in the time of the Babylonians as Serpentarius the snake holder and the name comes from the Greek word meaning serpent-bearer.

The new sign of Ophiuchus will be placed into the solar chart to cover the period between Nov.29 and Dec.17 which means that Sagittarius will have to budge up to the right a bit to make room for him and will now cover the period between Dec 17 to Jan 20.

Likewise all of the star signs will have to make a similar move to accommodate our snake-carrying friend. Obviously the twelve signs that we know and love and that previously held a duration of around 30 days each are going to be whittled down somewhat. This means that some of the star signs will be only 3 weeks in duration while oddly enough Pisces, Leo and Taurus have a longer time in the proverbial wicket with a total of 38 days each. Virgo has the best deal with 44 days and poor old Scorpio is now only allowed to play for 7 days in total.

The personality traits of this new pretender Ophiuchus are that he is intelligent and honest and full of sexual magnetism. Now, as positive traits go they don’t sound too bad but as it is Sagittarius that is going to have to take on the Ophiuchus label and traits, I wonder how the old archer feels about losing his own traits of being very positive, popular, big hearted and a great listener.

Of course it is not only Sagittarius that is affected. We must all take on the personalities of the star sign immediately to our left. So Capricorn is the new Sagittarius, Aquarius takes over the mantle of Capricorn and so on. I am Pisces and although I was born on the cusp and so already share some of my personality traits with Aquarius I am not happy at being told that I have to give up many of the Pisces traits that I like. Sure there are some things I might like to change, which makes me wonder if maybe it can be done as a sort of mix and match where we swop the traits we dislike with ones that we prefer?

Interestingly, this may have an effect upon all those people who disclaim the power of astrology. In the US, 25% of the population are believers in astrology which means that there must also be a large amount who sit on the fence. You know the type. ‘Non-believers’ who covertly read their star signs? They claim not to know anything about star signs but they know the personality traits that accord with their sign and probably which signs they are compatible with too. Well I wonder if these non-believing Leo’s are going to discard their Lion status and happily take on the ways of the Crab? Are the diplomatic Librans going to be happy to suddenly become Virgo?

What of star sign compatibility? Our love star signs are now going to be different. Are we now going to find ourselves attracted to a completely different type of personality?

Will we suddenly find that we have nothing in common with our love partners?

Could this change of personality be sited as grounds for divorce?

Then of course there are the people that have really committee to their star sign by having a body tattoo. Is there going to be a rush to the laser treatment surgeries for removal of the now erroneous sign or perhaps a good tattoo artist can mask the Sagittarius into Scorpio?

No one can predict how it is going to go but you can be sure of one thing…there will be a lot more discussion to come on this subject.

Here is the new Zodiac chart:

Capricorn: Jan.20 – Feb.16

Aquarius: Feb.16 – March 11

Pisces: March 11 - April 18

Aries: April 18 – May 13

Taurus: may 13 – June 21

Gemini: June 21 – July 20

Cancer: July 20 – Aug.10

Leo: Aug.10 – Sept.16

Virgo: Sept16 – Oct.30

Libra: Oct.30 – Nov.23

Scorpio: Nov.23 – Nov.29

Ophiuchus: Nov.29 – Dec.17

Sagittarius: Dec.17 – Jan.20

The stars might not actually be aligned in your favor

What's your sign? Probably not what you think, thanks to the Earth's "wobble."

Last update: January 9, 2011 - 3:00 PM

A recent Harris Poll found that 31 percent of Americans believe in astrology. They're wrong -- although not necessarily in the way their detractors might cite.

The ancient Babylonians based zodiac signs on the constellation the sun was "in" on the day a person was born. During the ensuing millenniums, the moon's gravitational pull has made the Earth "wobble" around its axis, creating about a one-month bump in the stars' alignment.

The result?

"When [astrologers] say that the sun is in Pisces, it's really not in Pisces," said Parke Kunkle, a board member of the Minnesota Planetarium Society.

Indeed, most horoscope readers who consider themselves Pisces are actually Aquarians. So instead of being sensitive, humane and idealistic, they actually are friendly, loyal and inventive.

Or not.

There is no physical connection between constellations and personality traits, said Kunkle, who teaches astronomy at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. "Sure, we can connect harvest to the stars," he said. "But personality? No."

Astronomers have pooh-poohed astrology from the get-go, but Kunkle hedged when asked if astrology can bring people to his science.

"Historically, people looked at the sky to understand the world around us," he said. "But today I don't think people who are into astrology look at the sky very much."

But they do look at horoscopes. And now they have an explanation for why a day might not have turned out exactly as predicted.

Bone Weight Astrology app can be used to impress someone you know and don’t know

Bone Weight Astrology is one of the Chinese Astrology systems that can tell a person’s traits, character and future using his or her date and time of birth. The Bone Weight Astrology system assigns a weight to each of the year, month, day and hour of birth. The individual weights are added together and a reading is given for the combined weight. Heavier is better. It is a very effective system of astrology and can be very helpful if you want to know more about yourself, so Mar Yau decided to develop an App for iPhone that makes it much easier to know about your Wealth, Career, Love, Health and Interpersonal Relationship.

I don’t have faith in astrology but the app was worth giving a try and fun too. You can get this app from the App store on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad and use it for your own or to tell your friends about their future and traits and how 2011 is going to be for them. The app can be used to blow away a person’s mind whom you don’t know by telling his or her traits by using this app with a tap of your finger.

The App is available at the App Store for just $2.99

Beware of Resolutions

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

January 1st begins the year in our western culture and January was named after Janus, a mythical Roman king. He was a  king of beginnings who was also the guardian of doors and entrances…perhaps, a kind of mythical ‘bouncer.’ Depicted with two faces, one which looked backwards and one looking forwards, the Romans saw him as reflecting upon the old year and looking forward to the new.

Of course this is something we all continue to do to this day, many of us tend to look back at the past twelve months and reflect upon the highs and the lows, our achievements and our disappointments alike and we look forward to the new year and often feel full of hope for new beginnings and new opportunities.

The Romans believed that Janus could forgive them their wrong-doings and so, many gave gifts and made promises, believing that Janus would then bless them throughout the coming year.

This tradition continued and became what we have today where many people make promises to themselves and to others. These promises consist of such things as stopping smoking or to see more of the kids or to lose weight…and a thousand other things.

We now call them resolutions and the unfortunate thing about resolutions is that most people fail at them. Research shows that only 8% of people are successful at converting their resolutions.

Did you make any resolutions last year? Did you stick to them? More than likely not, I’m sure. Was one of these resolutions to get fit and lose x amount of pounds? You were going to start jogging right? You may even have bought the running shoes and track suit or maybe you paid a subscription to the local gym? Be honest now…how long did it last? One month, maybe two? And now at the end of that year when you were going to achieve so much, so many things that you were going to change about your appearance and life-style; how did it end up? Did you lose that weight? Do you have that six-pack that you so desired?

I hope the answer is yes…but unfortunately statistically, the likelihood is that the answer is no.

Let me tell you where you went wrong.

Resolutions! Do not make them! Most of us hate feeling compelled to do something even if it is from our own compulsion. When you make resolutions you only put yourself under unnecessary pressure to perform and then you broadcast it to all your friends and acquaintances. Being motivated is essential and of course you must have goals if you are going to achieve anything in life but new years resolutions are not the way.

You stand a far better chance if you decide positively that you are going to lose that weight or drop two dress sizes or whatever it is…and then just do it! Tell your partner or perhaps a sympathetic friend if you must but do not broadcast it around as a resolution, because the problem with resolutions is that when your best friends give up on theirs, or your partner stops doing what they were so going to keep on doing forever; then you may feel inclined to give up too.

Follow us here at love star signs and we will do our best to be your star guide and we hope that 2011 is the year that you meet your special love star person.

We wish you luck and success and every happiness in all of your endeavours throughout the coming year and beyond.

Good karma transfers from one aspect of your life to another on the day of the Dragon. The empathy you show towards a friend in distress may coincide with financial prosperity and success in your career. In the evening, spending time with someone new is favored.

Ox (1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009)

Dealing with difficulties at home could have you running into a brick wall. Patience will be your most important ally today. Turn away from man-made structures and focus instead on natural things.

Tiger (1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998)

The day of the Dragon sees you at your most alert and energized, but jealousy can lead you astray. Money may be tight, so keeping an eye on your finances is advised. This might not be the best time for bold investments.

Rabbit (1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999)

All eyes are on you today, which is just the way you like it. Take the spotlight and run with it! No idea should be too unwielding to unleash on those who hunger for your talent and wisdom. Let no inhibitions stop you. This is your time to shine!

 Snake (1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001)
The cold of winter may strip the land bare, but the fields of your career are rich and ready to be harvested. The crops of love may not be so fallow, so avoid jumping the gun. Marriage might not be the best idea right now.

Horse (1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002)

Expect the unexpected on the day of the Dragon. Boundless opportunities await you in love and travel as long as you can handle the strange and exotic. All you need to do is take the first step and fate will carry you the rest of the way.

Goat (1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003)

You can look forward to good health today if you can stay busy and keep yourself from worrying about trivial things. A moody friend may take their anger out on you. It would be best to turn the other cheek and let their temper simmer, rather than react in kind.

 Monkey (1908, 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004)

Your past trespasses may catch up with you when someone confronts you about something offensive you did or said. Take this as a call to control your temper. The next few days should see you laying low, staying quiet, and meditating.

Rooster (1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)

There's no guarantee that things will go your way today, which motivates you more than ever to gain control of your own destiny. Common sense is favored over chance. Uncertainty might make you tense, but pragmatism can help ease your mind.

Dog (1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)

It may not be wise to leave home right now. Although travel is alluring, a contender may enter the arena and use your absence as an opportunity to take your good status away. Stay on board to defend what is yours.

Pig (1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007)

Serendipity could make an appearance in your favor today. Your creativity might get noticed by influential superiors, who in turn may open the doors you need to pass through to fulfill some of your formerly unlikely ambitions.
